Spectacular piece of ± 14 x 7.5 cm, with a fish of 11 cm. It comes from an old collection.
Centriscus is a genus of fish of the Centriscidae family, of the Syngnathiformes order. Currently in existence, Centriscus scutatus is a slender fish that reaches a length of 15 cm. It is found at a depth of between 2 and 333 m in the Indian and Pacific oceans, from the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf to Japan, New Caledonia and Australia.
