Exceptional full spine of the dorsal fin of the shark hybodus; complete and very rare find in this condition. It measures about 8 cm.
Hybodus is an extinct genus of sharks appeared in the Permian, and disappeared into the Cretaceous.
During the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods very successfully expanded inhabiting shallow waters worldwide.
For reasons not fully understood, the hybodontidos became extinct in the Cretaceous.
